Hawk Green Brass Band (Marple)

Having celebrated its 200th anniversary last year, New Mills Band 1812 has made an exciting start to its third century of playing with the appointment of Adam Hutchins. Adam studied both at Leeds College of Music and Salford University. He is a professional musician specialising in Jazz Piano, Musical Direction, Music Production & Education.

Established in 1812, New Mills Band is Britainís oldest performing community brass band and welcomes new members of any age and ability - the only requirement is an interest in playing for pleasure! We particularly welcome experienced players who are interested in playing a non-competing band that has strong community links. If you are interested in joining or simply want to find out more about the band, just come along to one of the weekly rehearsals on Mondays at 7.30pm in Thornsett Band Rooms, High Hill Road, New Mills or send an email via the band website(www.newmillsband.com).


Goyt Valley Brass - Furness Vale

Goyt Valley Brass is a small band which is happy to give banding training to young people to adults of any age.  There is usually training instruments available.  The band practise at St John's Church Hall, Furness Vale (on the A6 between New Mills and Whaley Bridge) on Wednesday evenings from 7 p.m.  For further information contact { charlesfwoodward @aol.com }
